About Defenders
Our Story
Defenders of the Christian Faith Movement is an evangelical movement committed to planting churches, equipping leaders, and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus.
Founded in 1945 by Drs. José and Gloria Hernández, the Defenders of the Christian Faith Movement exists to fulfill The Great Commission. Since then, the Defenders Movement has planted churches across the United States and Mexico, with ministry efforts reaching Central and South America, Europe, and Africa. Throughout our history, God has faithfully used the people of Defenders to equip ministers and build healthy churches. United by a shared love for the Word and for one another, we remain focused on what matters most: defending the faith and expanding the Kingdom.
As we look to the future, we are committed to the vision God placed in the hearts of our founders. Generations may change, methods may evolve, but our mission stays the same. We invite you to stand with us, serve alongside us, and be part of what God is still doing through this movement.

Our Purpose
To fulfill the Great Commission by taking the message of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to every person, wherever possible. To launch and supervise churches, ministries, and organizations that will be established throughout America. Sponsor institutions such as summer camps, seminars, and other activities and institutions that may arise in the future and which the Board of Directors shall approve.
Our Mission
To empower the affiliated churches, ministries and organizations by equipping their lay workers, pastors and ministers to win and train the next generation of believers.
Our Vision
As Defenders, we will choose to invest the necessary resources to ensure that; each church is supported in their effort to spread the Gospel; each pastor is prepared to lead the Flock; and each member encouraged to plant new churches, ministries and organizations.
